BTS ARMY Canal Cruise - Purple Waves in Hamsterdam

BTS ARMY Canal Cruise - Purple Waves in Hamsterdam

Blog in het Nederlands vind je hier

Before the Run Seokjin concert, we set sail on the ultimate pre-party: a BTS ARMY canal cruise in Hamsterdam.  Yes, Amsterdam… but it’s Hamsterdam when Jin, our hamham, is in town 🐹💜. YOU KNOW!

What first started as a tiny idea from our ARMY friend Sandra (also known as BTS7NL) quickly turned into none of us could have imagined. She reached out for our help, and of course, we said 100% yes. The plan? We started small, a little Dutch-style boat for just 50 people. You know, “keep it cozy,” thinking small, Dutch-style.

We honestly thought, “Cute idea, this will be a chill, intimate ride.” I mean, sure, ARMY sells out BTS merch, concerts, photo cards… but a canal cruise? Nah, right?

Yeah. Wrong.

50 spots = sold out in 2 hours. TWO. HOURS.

Fast forward..... instead of one little boat, we ended up with 4 boats with 92 spots each over two days, packed with a total of 368 ARMYs from 38 different countries. From Germany, the US, Canada, Japan, Greece, and basically half of Europe (and beyond), we sailed through the canals, giving total Airplane Pt. 2 energy… except this was the Sailing version.

Purple Vibes Only

The second we stepped onboard, it was game over for any kind of “calm sightseeing hahaha! BTS music filled the air, the decks were alive with laughter, and the boat became a floating home for every ARMY heart. Locals waved from the side, and we even spotted ARMY in the wild waving from the streets.

From Strangers to Chingu in 0.3 Seconds

ARMY bonding is real. You meet someone, you scream "WHO IS YOUR BIAS?"and suddenly you’re sharing snacks, taking selfies, and planning which concert you’re meeting at next. By the first bridge, we were basically one big purple family. The kind that screams fanchants in public without shame 😅. You Owned it, Slayed it, Rocked it. We've had so much FUN!

Karaoke 노래방 (Noraebang) Singing Our Hearts Out

We sang everything. Spring Day? Tears. Dynamite? Obviously. Practiced the Rope It fanchant like our lives depended on it. And when Magic Shop came on… oh, that’s when the real magic happened. We had two boats sailing side by side, and during the “So show me / I’ll show you” part, we sang to each other across the water. It wasn’t just a song, it was a connection straight from the heart.

Even the people walking along the canals got a free BTS concert. (You’re welcome, Amsterdam.)

The “Sailing” Chapter of Our ARMY Story

By the time we docked, our voices were gone, our hearts were full, and our camera rolls… well, let’s just say they’re 90% blurry selfies and 10% very aesthetic canal shots.

This wasn’t just a cruise — it was another chapter in the never-ending ARMY x BTS love story.
